It can be exhausting entertaining the kids, as I am sure a lot of you know. Some days are tougher than others and today was one of those days.
So, while Alfie slept, I pulled out a secret weapon and let me tell you…it is a seriously good weapon in the child entertainment department.
Ever since Christie gave this package of goodness to Maddie for Christmas, I have been saving it for a ‘rainy’ day.
People were painted, stories were created. All the while, I enjoyed a fantastic book that I was lucky enough to win at Tina’s.
If you are in need of some ‘rainy’ day supplies, check out Goose Grease.

I know the feeling, and that's a fantastic idea. I can't wait until Ellie is old enough to manage one of these. Here's hoping you have a little bit of relief tomorrow. x
Well you've made it look far from stressful! Hope you had lots of fun ;-)
they are a great bit of entertainment..but..when the littlest one gets to them..hmmm, that's a different kind of entertainment :)
painting always keeps the attention…painting little people had to be fun..
paint never fails to entertain, does it? Add i a bit of glitter and you've got girly heaven!!!!

For me its arclyic painting (it that is the picture of) – only in red, blue, and yellow but they are learning about mixing colors.
Totally hear you Kate… xx
lol, I know what you mean. I paint with my kids all the time, its amazing to watch them create:)
at least Maddie didn't paint herself……so how did they turn out? looks very cute.
Looks like a lot of colourful fun.
I should make more effort to get my son away from the iphone games.
i hear you 'sean the prawn'!
glad maddie had fun, I need to stock up on these!
These look great, I love the goosegrease shop.
And I'll remember it as another idea for a "sanity pack" (my made up craft packs for those really feral days!)
What a great secret weapon Kate. Painting is one of those things that if YOU are all ready to go, mentally and physically!!!, it is awesome. There is something about paints that kids just love.
I hope your painted people bring you all lots of fun.
Oh boy – paint – it's always so scary!
Mmmm, I love paint, Brigi loves paint but all together I have to be mentally prepared to love paint with Brigi!! Well done with entertainment on a rainy day- no mean feat. xx
