A cot quilt for a friend…
I’m also still plugging away at the stars, although production has slowed somewhat. After piecing about seven scrappy stars I realised that as much as I love scrappy quilts, when I go to create them something in my brain disconnects…I just can’t do the scrap.
Anyway, I have refined my fabric selection somewhat and started again. I figured that too much time is invested in hand piecing to work on something you don’t like.
What are you working on?

Ooh I love those little green cars! And the Liberty star!
To answer your question, I'm working on my next blog post (and not my thesis, shhhh!).
Such a lovely baby quilt!
And your new stars (although I loved the old ones) are also very pretty.

your quilt is going to be gorgeous- love the colours
The cot quilt is divine Kate…those green cars are soooo cute!
What's the design there?
Have to agree on the ditching projects you don't like thingy…

Quilt looks great, I'm sure it will be loved at it's new home.
Stars look great too, I saw a 6 point start quilt recently & appartently there were 250 (!) stars in in. How many have you got to go?
God that is so true .. as evidenced by how long it took me to complete my mum's birthday quilt. Loving the look of the cot quilt and of course drooling over the Liberty stars1
Lovely baby quilt; I look forward to seeing it quilted.
The stars, as always, are inspiring – hand stitching is quite alien to me!

Your boy quilt looks great, I need to start a boy quilt asap as the bubba is 3 months old, you have just inspired me…….ps. i love your scrappy stars!
oh i love your fabric selection on your cot quilt!!!! the last star is my fav i am working on a couple of woolie, and a coffee cozy projects but they have been taken over with party prep's for my wee boy's birthday!!
i love those stars. I love scrap. Just keep plugging away, if it takes you 20 years and you end up giving the newly finished labour of love to a grand child it's still good. Just as long as you finish it!!!!
Lovely stars! xox
You can so do the scrap. With gusto. I love those stars, it's looking really beautiful! x
Your projects look great! As for me, I am working on too many projects at once- which feels a bit scattered.
I know why the 'scrap' bothers you – it doesn't get finished quickly enough. Just keep doing a few every now and then and before you know it you'll have a stunning quilt. They look amazing as does the cot quilt. Love that brown/red floral – divine! See you tomorrow!
By hand I'm working on my 'embroider-bee' pieces and by machine my pink and green medallion quilt. Your stars are lovely, don't stress!
i am dreaming about working on a few things…but not getting any motivation….i love the fabrics you are using in these projects!!! i agree….you have to love it or it will just not be something you want to work on.
The trucks are so so cute!
I LOVE those stars, liberty yum, stars yummie'er. I hope you'll feel the same at some point, beacuse I agree, life's to short to be handsew something you don't like.
The other quilt looks good, can't wait to see the layout of it.
Oh I love these colours too! Wow you're amazing at what you do.
the cot quilt is super cool and I love your stars, just beautiful!
Your stars are gorgeous. Yes, pitch the stuff you're not mad on I say. No point slaving away on something that doesn't work for you. x
Cripes! Lady those stars are GLORIOUS. You always surprise me with colour combinations and fabric selections (case in point, the cot quilt) and WHADDAYAKNOW? They damned well WORK.
ooh, I love those green cars. The stars are just adorable too :)
i think you're a goddess at putting shapes & colors & patterns together.
these are all BEAUTIFUL !
Can I ask what kind of fabric the white fabric is and where you bought it? I always find it hard to find a nice basic to go back with liberty prints. thanks
