I have long been an admirer of the humble cross stitch and given I am surrounded by friends of the stitchy kind, I am surprised it has taken me this long to have a go.
For some reason, I always thought it would be really tricky…with all those teenie tiny crosses but it’s easy and like most repetitive tasks, I found it quite therapeutic.
Scissor pattern taken from this book.

Well, it may have taken you a while, but you did a beautiful job! Anything is possible.

Would love to catch up soon. It's been ages!!!
stunning in it's simplicity and perfect in every way…just like everything you do ;-)
just started stitching in the last month… I'm in love with just how easy it is!
It's a lovely and simple design Kate and I agree – it's very addictive! Haven't done any for years and am too scared in case I like it too much – I have enough to keep me busy!!
I love cross stitch too! Is that pattern from the"Made in France"book? It's a lovely book and your work is lovely too!
So gorgeous.
I just loved this pattern!
I have scissors just like the one from the pattern :) I will stitch it if you don't mind.

That's really pretty Kate! I love doing cross stitch.
Oh yes, cross stitch is completely therapeutic! Very sweet. :)
Oh, don't. Please don't. I'm still making french knotty ruglets. Especially since I am soooooooooo on the cusp of this cross stitch bizzo. And they are snazzy scissors. (Please stop me if I ever do cusp of scrapbooking bizzo).
Couldn't agree more! :) I love doing it… plus you can do it around others and I find I focus better on what is being said when I do this. Doing things like this makes me in wonder and awe of the women of long ago and wonder why we have gotten so far away from it… and so thankful we are making our way back! :)
Kate, this is so beautifully done. I've never tried it but would love to try someday. How is your finger healing, am glad to hear your mother was able to come and help. Oh, and love the cowl and Maddie is so cute!
