The Shed..

by Kate on January 10, 2011

The family calls it ‘The Shed’ but it’s really a very large stable, packed to the brim with horse stuff, collected stuff and very old stuff.
Hammer time..
Work bench..

Before my Pa retired he was a horse trainer and as kids we spent many a holiday in the shed. I have so many good memories of that place and my Pa’s love of horses really rubbed off on me.

Bridle..

I made sure that when I was home for Christmas, a trip to the shed was fitted in. It did not disappoint.

Fan..
The Wall..
My Pa is quite the collector.

Those are absolutely amazing pictures. They remind me of something out of the 50s. Love the black and white look, and it's such a captivating collection of pics!

Wow. With your first post you have already upped the bar on the black and white challenge!

These photos are wonderful. What a perfect subject for black and white photography. The contrast and textures are so beautiful. As is the underlaying story of your Pa's shed and love of horses.

My Pa had a big old shed too, full of hand tools and wood shavings, as he built boats in his spare time. As children we loved poking around in Pa's shed and investigating the shiny tools, rusty containers and wood off cuts.

LOVE the new header Kate!
My farmer boy has three sheds full of farm stuff like that. I wonder if I photographed them in b&w if they would look all romantic and arty and grainy like yours and less like hard work.
Gorgeous stuff!
