I can see that this cardigan is going to be my ‘go to’ baby gift.
Zara has been used again, this time in denim and I pinched the buttons from one of the most impressive button collections I have ever clapped eyes on.
You can find the project details on Rav.
In other news: After much thought and deliberation I have come to the decision that my journey with Fat Quarterly has come to an end. It has been an incredible experience, one that I am very grateful and proud to have been a part of.
The community really embraced Fat Quarterly and all of us were and continue to be incredibly touched and humbled by your support – thank you. There are big and bright things on the horizon for Fat Quarterly, so continue to watch their space.

Love the denim number!
All good things & all that. Good on you KateO for helping to make such a great success of FQ. x
That is so cute, I could just cry. It reminds me of a little green sweater that a friend made for my son when he was a baby. I saved it, of course!
Very cute denim for baby. Congratulations on your involvement in FQ. You and the team have done an amazing job, creating a wonderfully modern, inspiring and edgy quilting resource. You can be very proud! You will be missed.
Holy moly you pump them out fast! Your hands must be on fire! Lovely colour and gorgeous buttons.
It’s beautiful! Great choice of yarn colour (and beautiful buttons of course!). Congratulations on all the work you’ve done with Fat Quarterly up until now – you’ve done a fabulous job, and all things have their time span. Well done – you can be proud!
Absolutely beautiful, Kate and the buttons are just adorable. I’m sure your departing from FQ is the right decision for you but I for one will sorely miss seeing your creations there x
That is absolutely LOVELY!!
That makes me want to learn to crochet! Darn all these cute crochet projects popping up online.
That’s a gorgeous cardi, Kate. I wish I was small enough to squeeze into it!
Yep – you will be sorely missed. There’s no doubt about that, and FQ wouldn’t be where it is without you. Don’t be a stranger, ok? Love you chicken xxx
Looking good! xxx
Beautiful cardigan! I’ve just queued that in Ravelry. Looks like perfect baby gift.
Thank you for all the work you’ve done on FQ. I’ve been raving to everyone about how fabulous the magazine is. I’ve just become re-enthused with quilting, and FQ has a lot to do with that!
Well. jolly lucky your friends who are having babies I say. It is very gorgeous.
It’s a bit crap that you’re leaving the FQ bunch in the lurch with no notice, but good job on all your hard work!
Kate, I’ve been meaning to make it back here to tell you how much I enjoyed the podcast interview you did. You are a natural :-)
And what a fabulous ‘go to’ baby gift, I need one of those but with my crochet/knit skills its not going to be that!
BOO on “Joe Blogger”. That’s certainly not how we feel! We will miss you terribly, Kate. Fat Quarterly wouldn’t be where it is today without your creativity, vision, and hard work. Thanks (publicly!) for everything you’ve done. I can’t wait to see where your journey takes you (maybe a FQ for knitters? that cardigan is fantastic!), and I look forward to opportunities to work together again. xoxo!
Thanks John! It has been fantastic!
Oh my… simply beautiful! I absolutely love the blue – just stunning! :)
Wow, just beautiful. I even managed finding it on ravelry, which is amazing. Dare I say how much nicer yours looks? That color does so much for the design; makes all the difference. I would have passed it by.
Best of luck in your new endeavors!
That yarn is so LUSH! I want to run out and buy some right now! And I LOVE The buttons ;)
Hi,
I love your work! I have a problem and hope you can help me out today.
I was not able to find the crochet pattern on Ravelry. Would you please help me out. What it the name of the pattern? Love the sweater and i have quite a few people that are having a baby and it would be a perfect sweater to crochet for them.
Thank you,
Susan Reed
Hi Susan,

You can find the pattern here: http://needleworkersroom.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
