My Creative Space: Blue Bento

by Kate on March 17, 2011

I cannot tell you how happy I am with how this quilt has turned out and it was very much a group effort.

Blue Bento

Fabrics picked by me and sent to the quilters in this group. They were sent back, I chopped them up (inspired by these) and added the white squares.

The quilt has been quilted by Karen and as per usual, she had done a lovely job. I asked her to do free-form lines which she has never done before and I am really grateful that she stepped out of her comfort zone and tried something new – the result is fabulous.

Quilting Detail

Fast Facts:

  • The quilt measures a generous 57″ x 71″
  • Backed in Anna Maria Horner flannel
  • Bound in Liberty

A big thank you to everyone who contributed x

It’s Drop Dead Gorgeous. And the quilting just freeform perfect. And I think after the last few weeks, you have injected a bit of quilty inspiration back into these veins.

Love it! The tonal blues are amazing and contrast well with the white. I might just have to try one of these out, soon!

Wow, it’s beautiful! I’ve never been a fan of bento box quilts before, but that colour scheme and your decision to chop up and alternate the blocks with plain squares has totally changed the pattern, and now I want to make one soooooo badly….

It is such a pretty peaceful quilt likely owing to the fact that you used a monochromatic color scheme and put in every other block plain. It’s lovely!
