I reckon this cowl is crochets answer to the knitted honeycomb cowl.
It is the perfect width, winds around my neck twice and it takes just under two skeins of tosh dk.
If you can chain, double crochet and treble, this is the cowl for you.
Ravelled here.

Ooh. I like it a lot. I love the way crochet garments seem to look a lot neater than knitted ones….or is that just down to the skill of the crocheter?
Ha! I have no idea but my knitted stuff is always a bit hmmm dodgy ;)
Yay!!! I was thinking I was going to have to learn to knit to make the honey version. Crisis averted.
ooh this is stunning :) I made a cowl recently for a friend and have been itching to make one for myself…I think I’ll give this pattern a go.
I knew from the sneak peek this was going to be a winner!
Gorgeous hooking as always x
It looks very snuggly!!
And that shirt is divine. Is that one of the ones you had made?
xx
Thanks Andi!
Yes, I had this shirt made and LOVE it x
Gorgeous!! I promise I am not stalking you -but everything you make is so divine I can’t help but want to make one too!!!
Thanks Michelle! This cowl is a winner x
I had been admiring all the (knitted) cowls of late, so thanks for doing the research for me for a crochet one, its lovely. And I also love the (liberty?) shirt.
LOVE!!!! We’re only this far into the cold season but I am already so sick and tired of tying and retying scarf ends. This might just be the answer I’ve been loking for.
You will love it and so will the girls x
It’s really lovely KateO. Great job.
Love the cowl – but am just as attracted to your lovely shirt!! Did you make it?
beth
Hi Beth,
I sent one of my favourite shirts and some liberty to a dressmaker and asked her to make it up, she did a wonderful job!

Gorgeous, kate…almost makes me wish it was winter here to wear one…oh wait, it’s certainly cold enough!
The cowl is beautiful Kate, but oh my, is that a liberty top? Adore it! xo
Thanks Cathy and yes it is!
Absolutely gorgeous – your tension is wickedly impressive!
Oh I have GOT to learn to crochet! It’s been on my list of things to do for ages, keeps getting pushed to the bottom but then I see pretty things like this….. It looks very difficult though!
Not difficult at all!

Thanks Andrea x
seriously awesome! You keep inspiring me to want to crochet!!!! <3<3
Thanks Amanda!
This is a really easy one, just use a stitch marker at the start of each round.

Now see that ALMOST makes me want to crack out the hook again … that yarn is freakishly stunning. Still don’t own any! What kind of crafter do I think I am?!
