Mini Mini

by Kate on June 30, 2011

A recipient of the Down Under Doll Quilt Swap is still waiting for her mini quilt which is pretty bloody disappointing when you consider the cut off was the end of May.

*sigh*

Normally, I would totally understand – life can get in the way but given I have had no response from the maker…well, I’m irked to say the least.

Anyhoo, the lovely Michelle has been very understanding but I didn’t want her to miss out so whipped up the mini-est of minis.

Mini Mini

5″ square – doesn’t get much smaller but on quilt this size maybe linen binding was not the best option. Proved tricky.

I’m sure Michelle will love it – it looks wonderful. Hope nothing serious has happened to the person who was supposed to be making the doll quilt.

Man that really is disappointing. Poor Michelle :( on the other hand look at the yumminess she’ll be getting! If i was actually able to sew at the moment I’d make her one too. Great use of colours and textures there Kate.

Oh! How frustrating!
I once sent a swap parcel to America instead of Australia… But it came back to me so i re-posted it, and apologized a thousand times to my partner!!
I hope michelles swap partner is ok, its not like somebody to just dissapear,
Your mini quilt looks so cute! And you can never go wrong with linen, if it was tricky it was worth it!

I’m a bit done with swaps as I always seem to get the raw end of the deal – either things don’t turn up at all or get something that is totally not my style or wished for. Am sure Michelle will be absolutely thrilled to get your Mini Quilt – that one would certainly make me jump for joy if it landed on my doormat ;-)

Sigh, indeed. And totally unfair for the linen binding not to play ball. And totally excellent of you for saving the day…

Very thoughtful.
And that binding looks great. Nice work on the machine stitching. I would never have known it was tricky!!

I love it kate. The perfect size. Great colour balance and composition. I am really sorry that Michelle had to wait, but this little gem was worth it.

Shame that somebody didn’t play by the rules but I’d like to say the DUDQS was my first ever swap and I loved being a part of it!
Thanks for organising it :)
p.s. Great mini!

Sorry someone didn’t play along but to those who are jaded all I can say is I loved what I received ( thanks Louise) and so enjoyed the making for my partner. I guess we all need to put in the effort if we sign up
