My brother and his wife, Tara are expecting their first child in July.
The kids are out at Mum and Dad’s this weekend so I thought it wise to get cracking on the handmade gift front.
We know they are cooking up a little girl so I went with some lovely aqua and peachy pink prints.
All frabics are from Calico & Ivy, with the exception of the flea market fancy print…that has been in the scrap basket for a while.
Simple meandering lines to quilt, machine bound for durability and it’s done.

This looks great – I love the colors and lines! Did you just freehand the pattern and quilt lines?
Hi Katie,
I just cut up bits of fabric as I go and piece them together.

Gorgeous quilt! I really like this, Kate. What is that lovely scallop-y print, and the flower one, too? They are so pretty, I don’t think I’ve seen them before.

That is absolutely stunning! I love baby quilts that aren’t sickly sweet, that yellow gives it such a lovely bright pop of colour. Lucky baby!

Beautiful quilt. So much to love about it
Love it in spades. Random rules! (not that I think the colour selection was random. Ooooh, no, not for a nanosecond. Considered and Spot On, as always).
Nothing like a handmade gift for a new arrival. They will love it. Beautiful colours too x
This is amazing, such good color and shape inspiration! Love it!
Love the colors you choose! :)
So pretty, I love the casual look of the quilting!
