I hooked up this blanket for my new baby niece, Piper Kate.
I firmly believe every child should have a blanket that they get so attached do it ends up disintegrating without leaving any trace behind.
That is what happened to my blankie, or so Mum tells me.
This blanket is made with 4 balls of Rowan Cocoon (which is a lovely mix of merino and mohair and comes in some lovely, muted colours) and measures about 36″ point to point.
The perfect size for a new baby but one I hope will be dragged around when Piper gets a little bigger.
Wool pruchased at Calico & Ivy and you can find the pattern details on ravelry.

Wooooow! It’s gorgeous!
Oh Kate!!!
It is gorgeous.
Lucky, lucky Piper Kate. x
Oh, Kate – it’s just darling! And Piper is such a great name…
I still have the remaining threads of what was once a blankie in my closet. It’s in literal tatters and can be squished into ball that fills my two hands with a little room to spare but I will likely keep it forever…. It was a gift from my auntie. :-)
Absolutely divine. Good job KateO & lucky, lucky Piper. x
